I hold a Masters degree in Community Mental Health from DePaul University, and a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from North Carolina State University. I have 20 years of experience and training working with a wide range of clients, ages 10+, battling a myriad of mental health diagnoses.
My area of focus is predominantly emerging adults (14-30 year olds) struggling with suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, and substance use. I am also well-versed in the treatment of ADHD, autism, schizophrenia, as well as depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
When working with clients I employ a person-centered approach rooted in the tenets of REBT. I also borrow from the theories of psychodynamics, existentialism, and feminism. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you.
