Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga is a spiritual and physical practice that combines movement, breathwork, meditation, and chanting to awaken dormant energy believed to reside at the base of the spine, known as Kundalini. It is an ancient practice that originated in India and has gained popularity worldwide.
The primary goal of Kundalini Yoga is to awaken and elevate the Kundalini energy through a series of exercises, known as kriyas, which involve specific physical postures, breathing techniques, and repetitive movements. These kriyas are designed to stimulate the nervous and glandular systems, release energy blockages, and promote the flow of energy throughout the body.
Kundalini Yoga places emphasis on the integration of breath, movement, and sound to help practitioners experience a deeper connection with themselves and the Universe. Mantras and chanting are commonly used in Kundalini Yoga to enhance the meditative experience and create a vibrational resonance.
The practice of Kundalini Yoga is known for its dynamic and intense nature, with a focus on building physical strength, flexibility, and endurance. It also aims to cultivate mental clarity, emotional balance, and wider awareness.
Practitioners of Kundalini Yoga often report a range of benefits, including increased energy, reduced stress, improved focus, enhanced creativity, and a heightened sense of well-being. However, it’s important to note that Kundalini Yoga involves powerful energy work and should be practiced under the guidance of a qualified teacher.
Overall, Kundalini Yoga offers a holistic approach to self-transformation and spiritual growth – combining physical exercise, breathwork, meditation, and mantra to awaken and activate the dormant energy within.

There is greater attention given to long, slow stretches – this is yogic style is slower-paced and emphasizes very controlled and precise movements.
In addition to the benefits previously listed, Hatha Yoga increases
- Core strength
- Stability
- Balance
- Endurance
Yin Yoga is a relatively new style of yoga that uses the same or similar asanas as Hatha Yoga. The key difference is the slow pace of this style when compared to other forms of yoga. Yin yoga concentrates on very slow movements with individual asanas held for 1 to 5 minutes. This dynamically changes the experience, and the way energy is moved through the body. With a focus on energy meridians and an inward focus of your attention, this can be a deeply relaxing, rejuvenating experience for the body and the spirit.
Some additional advantages of Yin Yoga include:
- Physical improvement of the fascia, ligaments, tendons, joints, and internal organs
