Vinyasa Yoga is one of the most well-known styles of yoga practiced in western cultures. In addition to the benefits previously listed, Hatha Yoga increases
- Core strength
- Stability
- Balance
- Endurance
Yin Yoga is a relatively new style of yoga that uses the same or similar asanas as Hatha Yoga. The key difference is the slow pace of this style when compared to other forms of yoga. Yin yoga concentrates on very slow movements with individual asanas held for 1 to 5 minutes. This dynamically changes the experience, and the way energy is moved through the body. With a focus on energy meridians and an inward focus of your attention, this can be a deeply relaxing, rejuvenating experience for the body and the spirit.
Some additional advantages of Yin Yoga include:
- Physical improvement of the fascia, ligaments, tendons, joints, and internal organs
- Mental benefits of stress relief, emotional balance, and clarity
