Unwind Wednesday Slow Flow Yoga

An all-level class that is appropriate for the beginner as well as the seasoned Yogi. This class is a great way to decompress and unwind in the middle of the week. Think slowed down vinyasa. Moving mindfully throughout a slow sequence that builds strength, flexibility, and alignment, while finding longer holds of postures combined with breath. This calming practice can promote feelings of peace, relaxation, and positivity.

Trauma-Informed Yoga

Survivors of trauma, in the broadest definition of the word, share the experience of navigating their lives in the aftermath of a life-changing event(s).  Survivors may have a range of body-based symptoms, long after the trauma occurred.  Bodily sensations associated with trauma can overwhelm the nervous system, which can create a lack of safety.  Trauma permeates all aspects of one’s lived experiences: physical, psychological, mental, behavioral, social, and spiritual.  Trauma-informed Yoga and mindfulness practices offer modalities to help heal the whole person. 

This class is designed to empower students to release trapped psychological and physical energies and come back home to their bodies.  This gentle, trauma-informed meditation is coupled with light movement and supports students to feel more grounded and balanced while focusing on natural breathing to promote relaxation, mindfulness, and embodiment. 

Students are invited to channel quiet awareness and presence, find stability and safety in the body, and cultivate resilience.  The postures and breathwork are thoughtfully crafted to help support the healing process, create an optimal balance of the nervous system, and lessen the grip that past experiences of trauma may have on the heart.

Candlelight Soothing Stretch and Yoga Nidra

An all-level class. Hands-on assists are offered throughout this mostly floor-based practice. Moving slowly through a yoga stretch sequence, releasing tension, with the breath gently guiding you into your deepest flexibility comfort zone. Preparing the body for Yoga NidraYogic Sleep”, a form of meditation known as effortless relaxation. During Yoga Nidra, you will be led through a mental body scan which allows for the mind and body to slow down, relax, and turn inward, eliminating stress and restoring energy levels.
