Dear Survivor, We Believe in You

Honoring Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)—a time for honoring survivors of sexual assault, raise awareness, and promote healing. At Stella Luna Counseling and Wellness, we start by believing survivors. Each survivor’s experience is unique, and healing must honor that complexity. In fact, we know that healing isn’t about dwelling on the past—it’s about reclaiming your future. Through trauma-informed coaching, supportive spaces, and holistic wellness, we help survivors rediscover their strength and move forward.

The Power of Trauma-Informed Coaching

Healing is deeply personal. Many survivors of sexual trauma often struggle with disconnection, shame, and uncertainty. Therefore, at Stella Luna Counseling and Wellness, we offer trauma-informed coaching that helps rebuild confidence, set healthy boundaries, and regain control. Unlike therapy, coaching focuses on present and future goals, empowering you with practical tools to create lasting change. You can use coaching either on its own or alongside therapy, support groups, or other wellness approaches.

The Strength of Community: Survivor to Thriver Support Group

Isolation is a common challenge for survivors, but healing truly happens through connection. That’s why we offer a specialized support group that fosters a safe, compassionate space where you can share your experiences, learn new coping strategies, and build meaningful relationships with others who understand. Together, we explore important themes like safety, trust, empowerment, celebration, consent, and control. Moreover, we focus on micro-joys, gratitude, and discovering a renewed sense of meaning and purpose. To ensure a safe space for everyone, the group establishes agreements that all members respect. Whether you’re just starting your healing journey or seeking deeper transformation, these groups offer support and remind you that you are believed—and that you are never alone.

Wellness as a Healing Practice

Trauma is not only emotional but also physical, as it’s often stored in the body. Fortunately, holistic practices like yoga, mindfulness, and breathwork can help restore both physical and emotional well-being. To support survivors, we’re offering a special promotion on yoga classes this month with the code SAAM15. In fact, movement-based practices provide a gentle yet powerful way to reconnect with your body and find peace within.

You Are Not Alone

Healing from sexual violence is not only possible but also achievable, and you don’t have to go through it alone. If you’re ready to take the next step in your journey, we invite you to explore the Survivor to Thriver Support Group and one-on-one coaching services. Simply visit Alexis Albro – Stella Luna Counseling and Wellness to learn more about Alexis Albro, Certified Trauma-Informed Coach, and Support Group Facilitator. This Sexual Assault Awareness Month, let’s stand together in support of survivors—believing them, empowering them, and embracing the healing journey.
